Why A Blog?

Why am I writing a blog? I am a creative person but expressing my creativity through writing is not my most favorite thing. I loathe spell checking and grammar, which I'm sure from reading any of my posts will become apparent. I apologize now to all my english loving peers for murdering the language. I really am trying. =) I am striving for PRACTICALITY not PERFECTION.

So why then start a blog? My husband and I have a goal for our family to "Love Learning". One way we do this is we read - A LOT. The more I read about running a business the more the topic of a blog keeps coming up. Its like an annoying toddler asking if we are there yet 10 minutes into an 8 hour road trip! So I'm diving in and attempting this blog thing.

Over the past few years I have been gaining success creating a career as an artist. SHOCKING!!! I know! A career as an artist is something that, growing up, was not considered a sensible career. I had always regarded it as a hobby. However God has really been showing me that this is a gift He has given me and one that should be put to use. Last year, when I was at one of my lowest times in life, God really spoke to me with these words: Terri, I have given you a gift - to make beauty out of nothing.

I am discovering how God will use this gift for His purpose. So that's what this blog is about. It's about me discovering how God will use my gift to create beauty. My gift isn't just used to generate an income. I've used it to parent my children, love my husband, care for people, and minister to others. So I hope you will join me along the way and I will share with you how you too can make something from nothing.
